Polo!

This afternoon we watched the John Greene Polo Invitational at Arranmore Farm. There were bounce houses, pony rides, ice cream, bad 80′s music, and of course, polo.

Ian loves “orange juice”

Posted September 2nd, 2011, 5:36 pm by karl

We’re sitting at a local restaurant waiting for our dinner.

Ian: I want orange juice!
Me: I don’t think they have orange juice here.
Ian: Yes they do. Look! (he points to a pitcher of beer on a nearby table)
Katra: No, honey, that’s not orange juice, that’s beer. That’s only for mommies and daddies.
Ian: Oh… I love that kind of drink.
Katra and me: (exchange concerned looks)

Florida Drift Diving

Posted August 29th, 2011, 8:42 am by karl

I just returned from five days of drift diving in West Palm Beach, Florida. Despite Hurricane Irene passing through in the middle of our trip, it was a great time and we completed a number of good dives.

Getting ready to head out for a dive. Hurricane, schmuricane.

Thursday morning. Hurricane Irene rolls by.

So we can't dive because of the hurricane. Hey, I know! Let's go to the beach! Here Darrick discusses swimming in a hurricane with the lifeguard.

The pelicans were loving it

It was nice knowing you, Darrick.

Time for more diving!
